How much does it cost to use XGuard?
Creating an account and browsing professionals is completely free. When you book a professional, XGuard charges a 5% service fee on top of the professional's rate. Professionals pay a 10% commission on completed bookings. There are no hidden fees.
How are professionals verified?
Every professional completes a 3-step verification: (1) Stripe Identity verification matching government photo ID to a live selfie, (2) professional license and certification validation against 168 licensing authorities, and (3) automated background checks covering criminal records and watchlists.
What happens if I'm not satisfied with a service?
Your payment is held in escrow until you confirm the job is complete. If there's an issue, you can open a dispute through our platform. Our support team will review the case and mediate a resolution before any funds are released.
How quickly can I get a professional?
Many professionals offer instant-book availability and can be on-site within hours for urgent needs. Non-urgent bookings can be scheduled days or weeks in advance. Response times vary by professional and are displayed on their profile.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments are processed through Stripe (PCI Level 1 certified). Identity verification data is stored securely by Stripe Identity. We never share your personal information with third parties without your consent.
Can I become a professional on XGuard?
Yes. If you're a licensed professional in any of our 45+ service verticals, you can create a free profile, complete verification, and start receiving bookings. Membership plans (Basic free, Silver $9.99/wk, Gold $19.99/wk, Platinum Elite $34.99/wk) unlock verified badges, search boosts, uniform discounts, and reduced commissions. Prepay options available for additional savings.
What areas does XGuard serve?
XGuard is currently available across the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand. The US is fully active across all 50 states; AU, UK, CA, and NZ are live with region-specific license validation (BSIS, SLED, SIA, ACIC, PSPLA, and provincial regulators). Professionals set their own service areas, and location-based search matches clients with nearby professionals.
How do professionals get paid?
Professionals receive payment via Stripe direct deposit after the client confirms job completion and the escrow hold is released. Standard payout timing is 2-3 business days. Premium subscribers get priority payouts.
